Our story

At SloWays, we specialize in self-guided walking tours along Via Francigena and great distance routes in Italy and Europe.

As the name suggests, self-guided trips do not provide for a group or a guide: you not only choose your own itinerary, but you can also decide on when to leave, who you want to travel with, what pace to keep, and many other little things that will make your holiday truly yours. 

This type of holiday is widely known and appreciated in Europe and worldwide: we wanted to bring it to Italy because we believe it's an incredible way to travel, perfect for the needs of many travellers who may not enjoy travelling in groups but want to be supported in planning their holiday and while walking.

Via Francigena is our specialty: we are the official technical partner of the European Vie Francigene association and manage the official online shop, which sells credentials, gadgets, and guidebooks for Via Francigena and other Italian caminos.

The company was founded in 2014 after a 2,500 km bike trip through Italy. We have strong roots: SloWays is part of an international network with offices in six European countries that has designed active trips and traced walking and cycling routes for more than 20 years.    

On our website you will find walking tours along Italian and European routes, as well as holidays along the best walking itineraries in Spain, France, England, Greece, and other European countries, all carefully designed and scouted by our team.
