It's official: we are Travelife Certified!

We have xciting news to share: we've just been awarded the top sustainability certification by Travelife, a global certifying authority in the tourism sector. They've recognized our commitment to the environment and community, marking us as a standout in the sustainability realm.

Travelife declared: 

"The award is a recognition for the long-term efforts and frontrunner position of SloWays regarding sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility. 
SloWays complies with more than 200 criteria, related to an operators’ office management, product range, international business partners and customer information. The Travelife standard is covering the ISO 26000 Corporate Social Responsibility themes, including environment, biodiversity, human rights and labour relations; and is formally Recognised as in full compliance with the UN supported Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria."

What's Travelife? 

Travelife is a leading training, management and certification initiative for tourism companies committed to reaching sustainability.

It's certification scheme, dedicated to achieving sustainable practices within the tourism industry.  It aims to provide companies with realistic sustainability goals, tools and solutions to implement positive change within their businesses and supply chains. 

The Travelife certification programme follows a three-stage approach.   

Stage 1: Travelife Engaged
In the first stage the company commits itself and introduces the appropriate management procedures. An appointed Sustainability Co-ordinator obtains the personal Travelife certificate and elementary steps and good practices are implemented. During this ‘engagement’ stage the company itself is not rewarded yet. 

Stage 2: Travelife Partner
Based on a sustainability report and compliance with basic requirements assessed by Travelife, the company will reach the Travelife Partner status. This status enables the company to communicate its sustainability commitment and achievements with the support of  the Travelife Partner logo. The company is now qualified to work step-by-step towards the final  stage.  

Stage 3: Travelife Certified
In the third stage, the company’s compliance with the international Travelife Certified standard for travel companies will be evaluated by an independent auditor based on an on-site assessment. The requirements are stronger than the basic requirements of the Travelife Partner standard and are in line with the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Criteria and formally Recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. Successfully completing the third stage will be awarded with the Travelife Certified status.

What stage have we reached? 

We have officially completed the process and obtained the "Travelife Certified" Status, the highest possible.
