The ISO 14001 certification is an international standard that verifies the implementation of an effective and responsible environmental management system. In other words, it means we have adopted a series of practices aimed at reducing our environmental impact, improving resource efficiency, and ensuring compliance with ecological regulations.
Obtaining this certification is not an automatic process—it requires a rigorous journey that starts with analyzing the environmental impact of our activities, setting improvement goals, and adopting sustainable strategies. An independent body has verified our commitment and will continue to monitor it over time because ISO 14001 is not a fixed milestone but an ongoing improvement process. For us, this means ensuring that every decision we make—from the routes we offer to the accommodations we collaborate with—is guided by the goal of minimizing environmental impact and promoting more conscious travel.
ISO 14001 is not the only certification we have achieved. We are also proud to be Travelife Certified, another international recognition that rewards tourism companies committed to sustainability in a comprehensive and concrete way.
Travelife is one of the leading certification standards for responsible tourism, developed with the support of the European Commission. To obtain this certification, we had to demonstrate that we adopt sustainable practices in all areas, not only in terms of environmental protection but also in terms of social and economic responsibility. This means that Sloways is committed to reducing resource consumption, minimizing the impact of its activities, supporting local communities, and ensuring fair working conditions for everyone involved in our network of collaborators and suppliers.
Being Travelife certified means offering our travelers an authentic and mindful experience, where every detail—from the selected routes to the accommodations we choose—is designed to respect the environment and enhance the cultural and social heritage of the regions we explore.
